We rely on skilled trades to build and maintain the infrastructure of our cities and towns. Our challenge is not having enough of these talented people to meet the demands fueled by our growth.
Schulich Builders will combat the shortage of skilled trades in Ontario and amplify their importance and value to our community by awarding 120 annual scholarships to the most promising candidates.
$20,000 = 1 year certificate
$40,000 = 2 year diploma

Quest for Excellence Scholarship Program
The RE/MAX Quest for Excellence scholarship program is a cash scholarship that recognizes students for their ongoing community contributions and pursuit of leadership. Through this scholarship program, RE/MAX Canada is pleased to offer 40 scholarships of $1,000 each to students across Canada (except for Quebec).
The 2025 Quest for Excellence program will invite eligible students to write and submit an essay based on one of three key themes: charitable community contribution; the vision for a brighter future; and ensuring Canadians have a safe, secure and affordable place to call “home.”

How To Enter:
To apply for the Quest for Excellence scholarship, eligible students are invited to write and submit an online essay that is a minimum of 500 words in length, answering one of the following questions:
- What does a “bright future” look like for you?
- How have you demonstrated leadership or charity within your community to make it a better place?
- How can we ensure fair and affordable housing for all Canadians?
The 2025 Quest for Excellence scholarship program is open until March 9 2025 11:59PM ET.
Who is Eligible?
To be eligible, entrants must be a Grade 12 student attending high school in Canada in the September 2024 – June 2025 academic year. Entrants must not have previously participated in a commencement ceremony.

About the RE/MAX Canada Quest for Excellence:
The Quest for Excellence scholarship program is an annual program that started in 2000 in Western Canada. Prior to expanding across Canada, the program awarded $16,000 in scholarships to 16 students in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Yukon Territory and Northwest Territory, in the amount of $1,000 per scholarship. Stantec/Sens Community Foundation S.T.E.M. Award - Education Foundation
We have a shared vision and understanding that access to education will help break down the barriers to accessing S.T.E.M.-based post-secondary studies. Through the partnership with Stantec, the Ottawa Senators and the Senators Community Foundation (SCF), we can tackle this burning issue impacting our youth and have a measurable impact on the future of the children in our community.
Purpose of the Award
The Stantec/Sens Community Foundation S.T.E.M Award will provide opportunities for financial aid to students interested in S.T.E.M.-based post-secondary studies who are in historically underrepresented groups such as racialized individuals, Indigenous peoples, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, women, and persons with disabilities. Those from military families, those who face economic barriers in pursuing post-secondary (college or university) education, and those who are the first family members to attend post-secondary studies will also be considered.
Eligibility
Graduating OCDSB students going on to study and to pursue a career in the field of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) at the College or University level.
Criteria for Selection of Winner
Applications will be reviewed by the Education Foundation of Ottawa, a member of Stantec, and the Senators Community Foundation team in March and will be awarded to the selected applicants.

There are four awards for $5000/each.
Application period: Friday, October 11th, 2024 – Friday, March 7th, 2025.

Scholarships - Horatio Alger Canada
The Horatio Alger Association provides $1.8 million annually in need-based scholarship support for deserving students in all Canadian provinces and territories. Scholarships of up to $25,000 are awarded to full-time grade 11 high school students with financial need (family income under $65,000) who have demonstrated integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, a commitment to pursue a post-secondary education, a desire to contribute to society, and a good academic record. The Horatio Alger Association also awards individuals pursuing a certificate or diploma program through its Vocational and Technical scholarships of up to $3,400.
