Course Selection

John McCrae Secondary School offers a variety of courses to students throughout the academic year.

To graduate, all students must successfully complete the following:

30 Credits, including 18 Compulsory and 12 Elective credits**
**Note: For students entering Grade 9 in Fall 2024 and after, it is 17 Compulsory and 13 Elective credits

40 hours of volunteer Community Service
Successfully complete the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test
Completion of 2 mandatory eLearning courses.

To opt out of the mandatory eLearning requirement please complete this form.

We encourage students to be mindful when selecting courses. Once courses are submitted, we cannot guarantee any course changes, therefore we ask students to please select carefully. The deadline for current JMSS students submitting courses through Xello is Friday, February 28th, 2025. Seen below is further information regarding course selection.
