HMCS Carleton - National Capital Region NAVAL RESERVE Co-operative Education Program

HMCS Carleton is pleased to announce the National Capital Region NAVAL RESERVE Co-operative Education Program. This Co-op is a joint undertaking between Ottawa Area School Boards and HMCS Carleton. The aim of the military co-op is to introduce young Canadians to career opportunities in theNaval Reserve.

Ideal Candidates are:

  • 16 years of age or older
  • Canadian Citizen or permanent resident
  • Have completed 15 High School Credits
  • Highly Motivated and seeking a challenge
  • Interest in the Canadian Armed Forces

Why Get Involved:

Education: Gain 2 credits towards your Ontario Secondary School Diploma

Experience: Military life and training towards your Canadian Forces qualifications

Participate: In part-time and full time summer employment opportunities with your future reserve unit.

Opportunities: Options for overseas deployments of your choosing

Pay: This is a paid co-op opportunity.

Commitment: If you decide the program is not right for you can leave at any time.

Important things to note:

The program is scheduled to run during the second semester, February – June 2026.

Students will be required to make their own way to the unit. It is next to a major bus stop and O-Train station.

Basic eligibility requirements for enrolment in the Military Co-op program are the same as for the

Canadian Forces.

The selection process is a six-part procedure that includes:

■ Physical Fitness Test,

■ A two-part Medical Exam,

■ An Interview, and

■ A Security Clearance
